I was wondering what u guys thought of ford doing this. i read in a mag that they will go in to production next yer with a SC...what do u all think of this.. i dont like it very much at all....

 

HI!... TRUCK TREND just finished testing one. It only ran 14.61E.T in the 1/4 mile! I can beat that and I'm still N/A and spin all the way through 1ST gear! I don't think you LIGHTNING guys have anything to worry about with this truck.

 

I'm glad to see the S/C on the Harley truck myself.

 

What you say. They're putting "Our Supercharger" on an extended cab. Thats not fair I wanted to be exclusive. Hey Ford " What about ME" . Next thing you know they will be putting S/C on Mustangs and High Prices Sports Cars. Oh ***** they are.

 

Yes, but I think they did that cause more people want to have the extra space. I would have bought the Harley instead, but no SC. So I bought my L and lovin every minute of it!!!!!

 

haul people ... haul stuff ... & haul a$$ ... what more could you want ?

 

It would be a good idea.. they should be a little faster that stock anyway..

i dont agree... i wanted the lightning to be that much more special...i think the sc should be for us only .. i know i am selfish... if people want to haul get a 250. Sucks for them. And if u need more room.. o well that sucks also. You have to make a choice room or speed... i choose speed. Ya we L owners will still kill them but i dont think it is "as " sppecial now that they did this. I dont like it at all

 

They should just make a supercab L....maybe for 05.....

 

Which helps us.It keeps a focus on our engines when there is no more S/C lightnings.In a couple years we will still be able to get stuff. Have to think positive.

 

You fail to understand the economics of the situation. Ford has a contract with Eaton to purchase X number of superchargers. Do you think that they are not going to do that. Secondly, the extended cab with never compete with the Lightning in straight line performance or handling. The last and most important thing is that it gives a company like Ford a chance to compete (stay alive in the market place) and you better believe it they need that help.

 

The trucks are probably faster than the real Harleys now......

For those of you that do not like the idea of Ford putting the SC 5.4 in the HD, your really not going to like it when they put that motor in any Ford truck that wants it in 2004. Maybe that's when Ford will put the 500hp version of the SC 5.4 in the L.
