Exclamation PSP comment

I,too, was told of "off the shelf" items being in stock and waiting and waiting,no response,no email, no way to contact with recording on. Finally got a human 8 days later, was then told "hold up on one part". That wasn't what I was told when order was placed. My time is just as valuable. I own a business also. My customers orders WILL be placed before I think about personal pleasure. Their business MUST be good because they don't need mine. No flame, just fact.

Every year about this time all the Tuners get buried in orders and the some of the orders get delayed. These are pretty much all little guys with small or nonexistent warehouses. They have small or non existent staff. I only know of one Tuner who has a shop as big as the local O’Reilly auto parts so I bet they are all doing the best they can...

If Sal is racing in Florida then that is a part of his Business as well..

If this year is like the last 2 in a month or 2 they will begin to work thru the crush of orders that comes with a new model year ... And everything will be back to normal.

Don’t forget that not everything works at Internet speed.

there have been a few compalints about sal getting orders out in the past couple weeks. he is just swamped. he is getting soo many orders. i know you want your parts but in a way this is a good thing kinda...he is getting soo many orders that he is sending stuff out later than expected which means a lot of people want his products which means they are good products. Sal is a good guy and his products ar top notch. just be patient and you will be pleasintly suprised!

Well put

Doug.

In addition to being a 'new model' time of year, it's the beginning of racing season . As far as I know, there is only Sal and Lisa, and they are tending to a phase of their business.

I would suggest that the next time they post about their travel/out-of-touch situation. But, that might not be a good idea--security-wise?

Question missing the point

I think some of you are missing the point; its not the delays or backorders that are frustrating.. its the lack of communication and desire by the Tuners to provide an acceptable level of customer service. Most of us understand that these are "mom & pop" type business running with minimal overhead, but don't lie to me or make needless excuses.. and don't bill my credit card a month before you ship!

Its very frustrating to see repsonses on the boards while you sit at your keyboard and phone trying to reach these guys to get an order status..

I agree about the lack of communication, but I must say that on my first order my credit card was NOT billed before shipment. I have order pending and have not checked w/credit card company.I also agree that they sell quality stuff

Heres the problem with them calling people back and communication. If sals on the phone all day he can't get stuff done

Allot of his time goes towards burning chips for new and reburning chips for current customers.

I guess the saying goes, if you don't want to wait that long get it from somebody else. The only problem is that ever guy that sells our stuff is backed up so you'll be waiting no matter what.

OOOOOOOOH!

Cancel your order, I like having exclusive parts, and being quicker than most plus he will have more time for me I think patience plays a big part in wanting a quality part. No mater who's parts they are we all have complained about delays, no contact, poor service, etc. Venting doesn't do any good either, just makes us feel better You will never be happy till you are comfortable with the vendor and they are forever busy and all of them race, and its race season so the numbers are stacked against us. Best advice is "Patience" good things take time.
Best way around all this, drive up to their door and say "Lets do it". Or sell the Lightning, an option I don't like either.

Exclamation anoither reason not to mod!

and yet another reason not to mod= i can understand alot of orders and small staffs and of course the i gotta go racin deal, but if you don't think customer relations and backing your buisness by addressing customer concrens is not important , just look at K MART= bankruptcy, which by the way the customers of the tuners ,are probably providing the $$$ to go race/research and development, the bottom line is if your providing a SERVICE for $$$ you should put the customer FIRST, my concerns are that providing good customer relations and service are issue #1 racing and development second, i would not get a paycheck if i put my intrests before my JOB>,.

Wow, just like when I bought my first Lightning in 99, I wanted my stuff and I wanted it NOW. Only trouble was, PSP was the only tuner out there. Now there are a few. Choose whom ever you like, but I know I choose PSP

Each of the tuners specializing in Lightnings are overwhelmed by orders occasionally. Sometimes, what may be perceived as "lies" turn out to be a result of organizational problems. One employee ships out a part & forgets to clear it from the computer's inventory & when you or I call we are told the part is in stock when in fact it has been previously shipped, or promised. These guys are in a relatively new business, still cutting their teeth. Can it be frustrating, absolutely, especially in today's world of instant gratification. The good news is; most of the tuners are fairly low overhead operations that keep our performance parts prices down. I have dealt with JL, Sal, & JDM, myself & have confidence in their integrity. Good luck.

BTW, whichever of you 3 rascals hasn't shipped my latest order, .......... Grrrr. J/K,........or am I???

Seriously my thanks to each of our tuners & their families in their efforts to support our hobby.

All I have to say is this...
Hire two high school kids a couple hrs a day to stuff boxes and answer emails. Don't touch the phone, just stuff boxes, get lunch and coffee, and write the status of orders to people via email. They could even answer a few emails from home before the go to bed each night. Don't get me wrong, I am a very patient person, and I understnd how hard it is to find good help. But you don't need good help to stuff boxes and look at the order requests and shipping lists and tell people yes, it has been shipped, no, your far down on the totem pole, suck it up. I fully understand the wait as do most people, but an update on where that $1200 check is, is fully justified!

One more thing...I am out to sea for months at a time. I ordered my parts when I first left so I don't have to be concerned with when they come in. Come home, turn some wrenches, go racin!! maybe some other less patient people ought to think ahead about when they want to go faster!!!!

Wink

a lot of us here, are in our 4th season of "tunerbichinG2". the tuners do things their way, because they can. i can't run my business the way some of them do, and keep all of my customers, but my competition and market is different. i don't know how many of you realize how lucky we are to have guys of this caliber, for the incredibly small market we are in. too bad the search is out, you could have read about the first "preseason", when the 99's hit the streets, and the crown jewel, an open element air filter, was for sale,,, but, you had to get in line,,, and "tunerbichinG2" was building to a frenzy, or something
