Intercooler Noise

I got a 02 and noticed when I reached 900 miles that the Intercooler started making a loud "water pump" noise. When I start the truck it takes about 30 seonds before I can see the intercooler reservoirstart pumping. The noise stems from this process. Is this normal? For the first 900 miles I didnt hear this noise. I have 1200 miles now and the noise has been there since.

Your pump is going out. Mine just went out at 4300 and I now find out about the messed up gasket and the blow-by in cylinder 6. Getting rebuilt for free w/ Manley rods though. Take it to Ford and tell them the intercooler pump is going out. It should take a few days for the part to get there and it only takes a day to replace.

no prob man, just have em inspect it when you take it back. My motor had already been messed with when it was under 100 miles...

I went to the dealer and they agreed that the electric pump has gone bad. I hope nothing else was affected by the problem.
Thanks.
