I don't think that says anything about "street racing". You check in and then you "drive to the track". Sound's like fun though .

Head's up Pro Tree, you had better be quick There are some 9 & 10 Sec stangs around the streets where I live. which would equate to about 6 sec 1/8 mile times or quicker.

Texas goes in REVERSE......

Just watching the news and it said that Texas is going to lower it's speed limits to 55 to prevent smog emissions. What a bunch of Horses**t. Can you believe it? How you gonna have a legal street race up to 55?

But really, how does that affect you Texas folks? I hope that doesn't catch on around the nation, could take me twice as long to get to work.

if Texas wants to lower it's smog emissions, they should take a hint from the Chinese, but instead of allowing only one female child per family, they should allow only one powerstroke per family in Texas

What's a speed limit? I topped 130 on the HOV a couple weeks ago.

I guess that means I can never move back home if they do that.

It is kinda bad when there is more powerstrokes compared to gas powered vehicles. The small town I live in there are an average of 2 to 3 powerstrokes per family. and there fast too propane injected and at the track not only trailering in the race truck but racing it too!!!

Thats why we all need to get together and show up there and show a strong presence!!

The 55mph speed limit sucks! I drive 86 miles one way to work every day...now ~75 of those are 55pmh instead of 70mph. Cops are everywhere. Bad thing is, some still drive 80-85 like they used to and some are going 50mph...it gets really hairy out there sometimes.

There have been all kinds of disputes over this. Hell, even Gov. Perry is fightning to make the change a temporary one. The freakin' tree huggers (in the gov't) are griping because they say that we are donig absolutely NOTHING to cure our smog problem...they've done some kinda fuzzy science showing that emissions get better at lower speeds and that the change would be enough to warrant actually doing in (even though the majority of the "changed" areas are so congested all the time that you're lucky to be doing 30mph). Right now, our big hope is that the suit claiming that since the speed limits are set statewide by whatever agency does this, no one should be able to pick and choose which stretches of road they want to drop the limit on. I'm anxious to watch this play out...hopefully for the good of me.

The STATE of Texas isn't going to 55.... The City of Houston... or maybe the county... is going to 55....!
