Sol?

i picked up my L on 2.15.02. had a flat on 3.1.02. don't know if flat was caused by puncture wound or defect in tire. i could not find anything on tire other than it was worn down on the sides because i drove on it a while not knowing it was fully flat.

anyway, i'm supposed to go in tomorrow and let goodyear replace. can i get out of the $300 replacement tire via goodyear policy or some other BS i can make up. 300 bucks, there goes my snuglid! any recourse here? thanks.

Also, goodyear will usually split the cost of the tire with you(if it's under 5000 miles) I had the same problem, I called discount tire and they said goodyear would pick up 50% of the tire. I luckly had purchased insurance on my tires and wheels from the dealer, so i had no out of pocket expenses(other than the cost of the policy)

Good luck man, hope that helps!!

i should have done that but hindsight is a kick in the a$$. so, goodyear might cover 50% no matter what shape the tire is in?

DO NOT pay $300 for a Tire! All it takes is a few phone calls to 3-4 local tire places. Ask them if they price match. I just blew out my right rear Tire about 2 weeks ago and needed a tire BAD (day before Track opened) Luckily there are 4 Tire stores lined in a row, about 3 miles from my house (NTB, Mr. Tire, Gemini Goodyear, and "Just Tires"). I stopped by each and every one of them...and they all wanted $285-305 per tire (no price match policy). The last place I went (Mr. Tire) agreed to price match TireRack.com . Fortunately they had the tire in their warehouse across town....an hour later I had a brand new Eage F1 tire on my truck for $202 out the door (disposal, mount/balance, tax etc). All it takes is diligence and patience, and you can find a good deal. Then if you can get Goodyear to split the cost with you....that's even more $$ in your pocket.

If you have a "Discount Tire" near your house, I'd go there first. They have awesome customer service, and will price match with no questions asked.
