Lightning vs CBR600
The other day my friend and I went out late on a hi-way here in Tulsa. Him on a CBR 600 and I'am in to lightning so we were just playing around and I see him start to give the bike h### so I take off. believe it or not I stayed right with him to about 110 or so and then he started to pull hard on me. I was very surprised to see this but not as suprised as he was. With this does any one have any bike vids. Has anyone ever race any bikes. I think his is about a 99 or 00 model. My truck 00 2#lower, flip chip, line mod. mass air.
I posted about 4 months ago on the NLOC about a couple of races against bikes and I was chastised severely. Thats one reason I usually stay over here. Anyway, I raced a zx6 and killed him. The guy couldn't drive and it looked like it had gone to hell and back. I also edged out a 96 or so GSXR750 that didn't look much better. That guy also didn't know how to drive. My next victem will be Koochie Krooks new R1! Jk Kevin, I know there is no way in hell to beat that monster.
The 600cc bikes are pretty feable in the torque department. If you got the jump on one, and he was too low in a gear he would have to play catch up. But, it definitely wouldn't take long. After that, you know the rest.
GSXR-750's and above are a different story. I've raced C5 vettes from a roll and had no problem, and that was half to 3/4 throttle not even redlining the engine. But, that's 30hp more than the little 600 you describe , which is huge on a bike.

there is a guy on the corvette forums with a GSXR1000, that gave an open challenge to any of the twin turbo vipers.vettes, supras,, to beat his bike on the strip. he said he would use plain street tires, and their only condition would be, it had to be a street car, no trailered rides. some thought about it, but one by one, they conceeded, even the 800+hp ones. this guys bike traps in the 160's
Well here are my thoughts...
I just trashed me 01 CBR 600 in December. It ran a 11.10 @ 121 bone stock with my 210lb butt on it. Slip-on pipe put it in the 10's.
I have a 01 L that has been mid 12's.
My boy would wax me from a roll when I played with im and let him ride my bike.
Be careful of bikes. They can be sleepers!!

R-6
I know my R-6 will spank my Lightning highway or not just not from a Top gear roll on from like 50mph need the Rpm's up on a little 600 but they scream red line is 15,000 on my bike
I think it would be funny to race a truck against a bike there is no competition in my eyes
Lightning 4800-5000 lbs 380-400? hp
2000 Yamaha R-6 387 lbs (wet) 120 hp when moving (ram air)

My uncle has a 2000 R1 and there is no way in heck that I can keep up with it. It really rides out.

Macgregor,
That's what I always ask myself when people constantly try and race me on my bike. Most people don't have a clue how fast street bikes are, and figure they have a chance. I usually just pace them while they are flooring it, most people think they "won"
