Question Quick Question About Drive Shaft Loop Install

I have a 1-piece drive shaft loop, like the ones JDM and LFP sell. I have everything done for the install except I don't know how to get the bolts through the holes you drill in the floor board. In JDM's instructions http://www.jdmengineeringinc.com/id86.htm it says to drill a 1/2" hole. If you do that the head of the bolts will fit but the washers will not. So what am I doing wrong here.....this should be an easy one, but I just got done putting in my electric fan and water pump so my patients are a little short

TIA......Joe

Hmmmmmmmmm

I didn't have to do that with the JL chip and I have only seen a couple of pics of JDM's, but wouldn't you drop the bolt(with washer) in from inside the cab down thru the loop part and then put on a nut and washer? Just guessing, but that seem to work--in my mind, anyway. Don't forget the sealant for the bolt holes.

Sealent ? Drill through floor of cab ? What is this all about?
I made my own 2 piece drive shaft loop and installed it on the frame rail , only need to drill 1 hole from underneath as there
is one existing already.( Approx. 13 inches from front yoke.)
Maybe IHRA and NHRA have different rules on mounting locations.

If I remember correctly......You have to remove some of the interior to install the driveshaft loop you have. I like the looks of the one you have the best; but, I marked it off my list of mods due to the PIA installation compared to PSPs and JLs.

You don't have to remove any interior parts period. When the drill bit comes through the floor, have someone inside the truck with the seats adjusted forward to slit the carpet with a razor blade. Install the bolts and washers from the inside and install the nuts and washers from underneath. Use silicone to insure that no water will ever get into the cab.

It's a snap and makes for a good looking install.

I just pulled up the carpet. It is very easy to access and you only have to pull up like a foot or so of it. I really wanted to avoid cutting my carpet. Oh well it's done now, thanks for the help anyway

Joe,

I wish I had read your post earlier and maybe I could have helped a little. Maybe next time.

This is the best looking driveshaft loop IMHO
