I tried 'em once in my Cobra... they SUCKED! They don't put out as much light as "stock" and it was almost as bad as driving at night with headlight covers on. Not to mention that they are illegal in a lot (most) places. If you drive in places that have a lot of overhead lighting, it might not be bad, but I live in the sticks and couldn't handle not being able to see very far in front of the car. It is very easy to "over-drive your headlights" with those things. My $.02

Forget them, they burnt my whole wiring harness. The blue light usualyy run 85-100w becuase they cannot put as much light as needed at the standard 50w halogen bulb. Stick with stock.

I heard that the blue tinted saran wrap works grrrrreat.

Seriously though, don't be a ricer. And it's not a BMW, Lexus, or Mercedes either. Just my 2 cents.

i have tried many different blue bulbs. hyper white seem to be pretty good and the pair that i have right now are from max motor sport. the first pair that i got were called cool blue but they didn't look like they would make a difference but i got them because they said blue. i saw the hiper whites that looked a whole lot more blue than the cool blue but they still had the word white in it so i didn't get them. so i put in the cool blue and they totally sucked. they now have purple xenon bulbs that i wanna try too. i think it looks really tight but its not for everyone.

blue lights

I bought a couple of different bulbs from NAPA. I bought some Xenon 9007BL's and Lazer Blue 9007BK's to try in my '01 L headlights. (Yes, I know how to spell Laser, but that's the way they spelled Laser on the box) They say Napa on the boxes and Wagner on the bulbs. I guess Wagner manufactures the bulbs for NAPA.
The 9007BL's are slightly brighter than stock and maybe a bit whiter. The 9007BK's are little more blue than the 9007BL's but nowhere near the BMW headlights. However, I think the Xenon 9007BL's are actually a bit brighter than the Lazer Blue's.
I kept the Lazer blue's in my L and I put the Xenon 9007BL's in my '95 F150.
I also bought some Xenon 9005BL's for my '01 L driving/fog lights.
They are a lot brighter than the stock bulbs. Once I got the stock bulbs out I noticed they are 9145's and they are 42 Watts. I can't recall off the top of my head but I believe the 9005BL's are 55 or 60 Watts. Like I said, there is a noticable difference between the stock fog bulbs and the 9005BL's.
I actually prefer riding around with the Low-beams and fog lights on as opposed to the High-beams by themselves.
To clarify...What I mean is that I can see better with the low-beams and fogs on than with the high-beams on

I had the superwhite tinted ones and didnt work too well. They were dim compared to regular bulbs and they also burn out much faster. I must of tried 4-6 different brands and still didnt like them and finally save enought to get the real HID Xenons kits. It uses the same ballast that are used in Mercedes and awesome color and output. The only problem is that I don't have the high beams anymore but rarely used them anyways. If you do get the HID kits, make sure they have the right placement of the focal point of the light output. If not, your headlights will turn into a very very bright high beam. I think thepawn has the same setup as I do but he got a replacement headlamp housing that has the HID's for the low beam and another regular bulb for the high beams.
Here is a pic of the HID's on my L, the pic does not show how they really look in person:

Do the "fog light mod" and you can have the fog/driving lights on at any time...

Question fog light mod

z96Cobra or anyone for that matter,

I have been thinking about doing the fog light mod.
One question though. I haven't spent much time looking at the little panel that the headlight switch is in. But upon first glance I don't see an easy way to get the little panel out of the dash. How do you get it out without scratching anything up?
