Wonder if they'll get more traction off the line on street tires... still won't get rid of the L, but a test drive definitely is in order. hehe i'll bet the gas mileage on those things is measured in gallons per mile... altho the Lightning doesn't have a wheel to lean on in that dept.

there is a big difference between guys that drive trucks and guys that drive cars there will be a market for both,besides how many vipers do they make in a year???the viper is an image vehicle for dodge i dont think they make much money on them,i dont mean to flame or start any wars i think this is a good forum for this discussion because alot of guys are interested in this truck,i did speak with dodge today and they said it will be on the streets in sept i guess we just have to wait till then to see whats really up!!!!

 

also this truck wont stop and handle as well as a viper just because it has viper brakes and a viper motor

 

It's clear that they are jealous of your truck and are just trying to get a rise out of you. Your reply should be a simple "Well when you buy one we'll go down to the track and I'll show you how things really are"

 

OK, you've said this twice already. What does that mean, "i spoke with Dodge today"? Is "Dodge" a person you can speak to? Or, are you suggesting that you are in touch with the CEO of Dodge Motor Division? That you have information that Dodge dealers & Factory rep's can't get? Help me out...

well im done with this topic thought it would be fun to discuss this truck but instead im getting spanked by guys with 29 post,one other thing im not loyal to anything but the baddist truck on the road which right now is the Lightning,if and when another manufacturer makes something that best the L i will look into it,it seams some of you are kinda pi**ed about this truck and all the rumors it has developed.So i guess now its back to the same old post of why is my motor making noise, or where the heck is my part,or maybe even what kind of oil i should use!!!!!

 

svt360, I think you're missing what most are trying to say here. The dodge is a concept truck that became a show truck. Now there is even a bigger leap from show truck to production truck. I don't know how long you have been reading the forums, but in the time I have been reading there has been 3 or 4 show trucks that will be the next Lightning killer, but they never quite got produced that way. BTW...if/when dodge has this truck in the showrooms, I'll make a trip down there, and who knows, I might be driving one home
