Nitrous remote bottle openers

I just received two NX express remote bottle openers from Sal. Has anyone here installed them? Any hints for removing the old valves from the bottles, or for the installation in general??

Thanks,

Dave

This is an easy one...

The remote bottle openers attach to the bottle by removing the nut on the end where you you typically fill it from. You can actually fill the bottle with the remote opener on it.

You just leave the valve on the bottle open. Wire it up to a switch and you're ready to go.

Tampa, the NX openers are different from the NOS brand ones. The NX openers replace the spigot on the valve, and they kind of look like a window motor, and actually open the valve. NX did thiers like this because the inline solenoid type ones like NOS sells decreases the flow out of the bottle.

Dave, you shouldn't have to remove the valves. All you need to take off the bottle is the spigot. The bottle openers attach to the valve itself. There should be directions in with the kit.

Thanks Rich and Sal-

I was just looking for any hints -or- tricks of the trade for the install. It doesn't seem as if too many people are using the remote bottle openers. My next project is a custom billet aluminum dual bottle holder....

Rich-

I am going to have it priced - I purchased a single billet aluminum bottle holder from NOS and I believe that they also mfg. billet aluminum dual bottle holders, however, they have inscribed NOS into them - and I use NX Express. On my current setup, I had a custom billet aluminum plate fabricated and the single bottle holder from NOS screws into the plate. A local machine shop only charged me $110 to fabricate the plate - pretty damn cheap if you ask me. For the dual bottle holder, I am considering two options:

1. Purchase dual bottle holder from NOS and then have the machine shop shave the "NOS" writing off of the bottle holder.
2. Purchase dual bottle holder from NOS and have the machine shop fabricate a new piece from scratch. I would also have them inscribe "NX Express."

I know that I am being picky, however I KNOW that you will understand.

P.S. Shoot me an email at D_Coburn@msn.com when you have a chance - I am interested in ordering a couple of spare carbon fiber pieces from you.

Thanks,

Dave
