Smoothed out tailgates?

Just looking to see if any of you guys have done a smooth tailgate on your trucks yet. RobG is picking up my roll pan and end caps this weekend and when I get the pan painted I want to get the tailgate smoothed out and have the handle relocated. the sir michaels relocater kit looks pretty easy to do but I also want to ditch the SVT150 and ford symbol on the back of it and also some how figure out how to get that black piece off there and flatten that out and smoothed. I know some of you are thinking that I shoudl get my trans and exhaust done first but thats the way I operate sometimes, I'm on a looks kick today and thats #1 priority.

So lets see those tailgates if anybody has one. And do any of you guys know of a site with directions for doing all the work above. I guess I could kinda figure it out but I know I'll end up haveing to buy a new tailgate if I don't think twice cut, weld, bondo, and paint once!

Later boys, hopefully it should be all done by WFC5 so it will look sweet running down the track.

I saw a red L with a shaved tailgate on svtperformance forum a few days ago. Here's mine with a PaintShop Pro shave. Looks good don't it? I might just do this mod myself.

What's up RT KILLA
Your truck looks nice. Are you going to be at Byron for our first drag day? I also am going to start the styling thing on mine soon. I just have to finish the speed part first. I hope to be in the 11's soon. Just last week i put those F1 that i bought from you on the truck. It was about time. I would like to look at those 20's in person. I'm thinking about geting me a set.
see ya later

I've read of someone who shaved it, and put it on the inside, real nice setup.

Hey casper whats up!

I'm hoping to be ready for WFC5 and thats my main goal right now. I need to get my trans out and buy a monster box from factory tech, and I also need a new converter from PSP. I'm taking off the bassani headers and cats and getting the long tubes and cats for the truck. And then I have to buy a new set of rims and tires for drag racing purposes only!

So I'm figuring I need to come up with about $5000.00 by WFC5, It doesn't look to go let me tell you, HEHEHEHEHE. With my brother and sister both getting married in the next two months I'm strapped! It will work out though, it always does!

As it is now ROB's bringing home the roll pan kit for me so I going to have to get that painted and put on the truck soon too! Once I put the painted side steps on the bumper just stuck out so bad that i had to get it done. Plus the bumper should take off about 80lbs or so I would think.

Thats this year and hopefully the beast won't through a rod, which I think I'll be fine cause I got a 99 motor, HEHEHEHEHE. 6lbs pounds of boost and a 50shot will be interesting to see. I know I'll be in the 11's this year.

Next year I'm getting the short block all rebuilt and getting the role cage done for sure!

oh yeah I was just in Rockford today looking at a project at the Zione church off of 6th ave. and 5th st. , something like that.

I don't think I'll be at the first byron meet, My sisters wedding is on the 20th of April and I'll be pretty hammered that day! I do plan on making allot of trips out there this year though.

My goal is 11.50's this year! With the right gut job I think its possible!

Sir michaels has a kit and its only like 50 bucks so I might have to get it and try it out!

Ah what the hell, I'm going to go order it right now. I'll be right back!
