Angry Lowered Lightning - Bad Alignment - Help

I have a 2000 L - Bought it used - I guess I got the last guys problems. I have had it aligned twice ( once by ford service - waste of money) and once by a local shop here in Nashvegas. Who said that the chamber was now corrected and the alignment should be good. Oh yea...the L is lowered like 2" all around. Do not know who's parts are in it but the rear look like BelTech. The front springs are black(any ideas?) The exhaust on the truck is very badly done (backyard and even leaks in a couple of spots, around the weld, black condensation spots in the garage.) So I am not to happy with his other mods to the L. And since I just put on a new pair of F1's and this is the second pair this year. I am not a happy person to say the least. The search engine is down so maybe it will be up soon to help but in the mean time. Anyone who knows anything that might help, Thanks in Advance.

Did/do you have a set of cam bolts to help correct the alignment?

A set of Herb's washers will also FIX the driver's side lower control arm clunk. Until you get them, it will be a vicious circle of frustration.

Hope this helps.

It seems that the drivers side is OK, the problem originally showed on both sides (inner tire wore quickly away ie: a toe in problem or a chamber issue) Ford only aligns the front end to the factory specs (totally wrong for a lowered suspension). The local shop aligned to a machine so that the toe in and chamber should be fixed. The drivers side did not seem to wear anymore but the passengers side seem to continue to wear away. Does the bolt problem affect both sides? Where can you get a set of these bolts? The search is still down...

Napa sells the cam bolt kits. You may want to check there. Sounds like they cant align it because they dont have the cam bolts for adjustment. Is this a good shop your taking your L to? Most would be able to spot that right away for you?

SVTKenn,

Check your end-links!!!

Most hack lowering jobbers don't shorten the end-links when they drop the L's (or any other car for that matter).

It is critical that you shorten the end-links the same amount that the truck was lowered. The fronts are easy, just replace them with an off-the-shelf end-link kit (reuse the OE solid bushings or at the very least go with urethane), but the rears are a bit tricky.
I fabricated mine out of eye-bolt/turnbuckle style materials (will post pictures of the entire project once the Beltech shocks go in).

Also. . .check your shocks. If they aren't the OE Bilstiens, you might as well dump them and get either Beltech or '01 replacement Bilstien shocks. Once you lower these trucks, the non-Bilstien shocks are simply not strong enough. . .and may even be blown right now because of the previous owner pounding on an incorrectly lowered suspension.

Good luck man!
