Question Remount Trailer wire connector?

I am sure someone has remounted the trailer wire connectors, where and how did you mount them to keep them out of the way. That is a very poor design IMHO to have it over to the side of the hitch so far. Needs to be hidden. TIA,

Flip it over and reverse the direction 180deg. Can't see it from the back and it is still functional. No drilling required. Use the same mounting hole.

I had to add one to my truck, the previous owner took the factory one off. All I did was splice the 4 pin connector into the previous harness. I routed the plug above the frame mounted hitch. I leave the plug tucked up above the hitch when I'm not using it and just reach up and pull it down when I need it. I just couldn't mount that big metal bracket with both connectors on the back of a Lightning, it was made for Super Duties.

Silver Bolt, can you explain the end result to your way. Maybe it is just because of a long day at work but I do not understand exactly what you mean. Is the plug facing down after flipping it? Thanks for the info. though.

take out the one 10mm bolt that holds the wire harness plug in to the hitch and then face the bracket 180 deg and bolt it back in place . Just crawl under the back of the truck and it will be very clear just look where the harness is bolted to the hitch.

3 minute mod that improves the look 100 percent

After turning, the end of the plug should be facing the front of the truck.

I looked at it after I installed the bedrug and understand now what he was saying. I was thinking too much I guess. I was thinking about mounting it where it was aiming down from behind the bumper somehow. I will move it 180degrees for right now though. Thanks for the input guys.

I see f150online is censoring links to rival web sites again... Lame.

Anyway, you can find a pic here:

Just replace the * with a zero.
