15" wheel for slicks without caliper grinding???

Hello everyone, I was just wondering if anybody ever came out with a 15" wheel that would fit and clear the rear discs? It seems like I remember hearing rumors last fall that somebody (maybe Bogart or Weld?) was working on a new wheel that would fit without having to grind the calipers?

thanks in advance for any info.

see you at the track!

later,
chris haynie

Chris, no 15" rim will ever fit on our trucks without some kind of caliper shaving. From the centerline of the axle to the outer portion of the caliper is 7.5", which gives you an overall diameter of exactly 15". In order for a 15" tire to fit on a rim, the rim bead cannot be more than 14.9", and then you still need a little extra clearance between the caliper and rim.

You'd have to move the rims out about 4 inches to make the calipers not hit.

I 'think' spacers are illegal to run in drag racing. I might be wrong, but i know a guy that claimed he got booted because he was running spacers. Sooo anyone else wanna chime in? ALso i don't think i would wanna run 4" wider in the front, would look like a ghetto ride, and the torq on those studs would be quite substantial.

When I worked at SuperShops we weren't allowed to work on any car that came in with spacers. They lose their torque on the wheel and if your not careful you can lose the wheel going down the road.
