No Emissions! Lose The Cats?
No Emissions! Lose The Cats?
There is no emissions here in south FL, and I was wondering if anyone thinks I should lose my cats on the truck. Would it make a dramatic difference or just a lot of noise?
don't do it!
here are some reasons why:
1) you will LOOSE power
2) you will most likely get check engine light illuminated for "catalyst inefficiency"
3) your truck will sound like a boat
4) it is illegal as hell, punishable by something like a $3000-5000 dollar fine to you personally and I believe a $20,000 plus dollar fine to any shop that does this for you.
5) it often times makes a vehicle smell like raw fuel whenever you drive it you will too.
hope this helps.
good luck.
sincerely,

I wouldn't recommend it. From what I understand our trucks rely heavily upon back-pressure, and computer feedback from the pressure to make our superchargers function properly. ::shrugs::
WPB cool! I live in Coral Springs now, but I just bought a house in west Lake Worth. I should be moving in in late April. Do you meet with any other L owner's in the area? Have you heard of "Tower Shops"?
