I expected better from my truck :(

Today I went to California Speedway to do some drag racing and I came up with a best E/T of:

13.541 @102.44mph

my 60' was 2.179 on street tires

I didn't go to the track with expectations of breaking 12s on street tires but I expected a little better than what I got. Does anyone know what went wrong? or if anything even went wrong?
What could else could I do to my truck to bust into the 12s? I read on this board of people back east running mid to high 12s with the mods I have. Is it just the track conditions?
my mods are in my sig.

P.S. an '02 ZO6 made a best pass of 13.1 and my sister ran 13.7 in her '01 M5

sounds like the track and maybe weather conditions. i ran my best time here in south florida the other night (see sig.) with less then what you have and my 60' times were 1.8. i also saw a z06 running 12.7's.

With a 2.179 your not going to get in the 12's unless you got ALOT of MOTOR or a ALOT of NOS. Get that thing in the 1.8x's and you will be in the 12's. It can be done on F1's for sure... I went a 12.62 @ 106 with a 3lb lower, Chip, Filter, Ram Air when I first started modding my truck. I had a 1.86 60 foot though...

What was your RT? Sounds like it definetly was track conditions if a zo6 was running 13's.. I ran 13.084 with 90mm MAF, Air Induction Kit by JL, and JL Diablosport chip.

Post F1 Tire Pressure

What was the pressure in your F1's??? Lower the rear tire pressure to 17-20 lbs...Launch at 1000rpm..and roll the throttle..I have seen/heard 1.8 60ft times with that method.....on a good track. I will admit your mph looks low for your mods. What is your boost guage reading??? Hope this helps..

Unfortunately the weather, gas, and poor track prep contribute to slower L's on the west coast than back east.

Thumbs up Practice,practiceand practice

Sounds like a need for practice, the same day Shadow ran a 13.08, I ran a 13.4 with a filter only with a 2.0 60. 20 lbs rear 40 in the front. also ran 12.6 with a 75 shot of NOS this is at Sacramento raceway there is about 3 tenths in the bad traction of the track.
Good luck

California track times never seem as good as the ones you see back east. It must be the weather . It was like 85 degrees last weekend. Back east what was it hehehe.

If you want some good 60 foot times hit up the 1/8 mile track at Irwindale. You also get more passes so you can improve your launch.
