Thumbs up Factory Tech Valve Body!

I'm thinking about purchasing the PSP Factory Valve Body from Sal and was wondering how easy the install is? And also wondering does anyone have any pictures of them installing it? And will my chip need a reburn for it to take full advantage of the valve body?

Thx
-Sam

If you have firmer shifts programmed into your current chip, you might want to have it reburned to stock or at least less firm. The install is easy, though a little messy. The instuctions that come with the part have pics and are easily understandable. You might want to get a deep sump trans pan to go with it, too.

Piece of cake on the install. The instructions PSP provides are right on-40 min tops. Replaced my stock pan with the 4x4 deep pan since it has a drain plug

Would a high RPM torque converter cause higher temps? I've been thinking about one for street and strip.

Thing is beautiul. I wonder if Rob had one if he would drench it in black paint? Actually, he probably already has

I'm sure that's 40 min. for the experienced guy.........for a mechanical idiot like me (aka inexperienced), would you say it's even do-able, or better to take it to someone. I've never screwed around w/a tranny before.

This is true for short, extreme duty runs such as drag racing or pulling a boat up a ramp. For towing it would make very little difference in temperature. That what the extra heavy duty cooling package is for.

The primary advantage is that it can simply hold more fluid. ATF does break down over time, depending on how hard the truck is run. With more fluid you have a longer interval between required changes. OTOH, it does take longer to reach operating temperature.

It really is a simple install. If you can loosen a dozen bolts and retighten the same ones then you can do the mod. I am no mechanical expert either but it only took me an hour to do it as well, and that was after I cleaned up the overspill on the garage floor All you do is unbolt the old valve body and install the new one. It goes in the same place with the same bolts.......VERY EASY TO DO

Excellant suggestion......while you are at it grab a ft/lbs wrench for the pan. I got carried away and had to use Heli coils to correct my "little error"
