Zaino subs

looking for good value/quality on cleaning products for L(wash, wax, etc.) that aren't Zaino or other expensive products. i want to go to Target, Wal-mart, etc. i'd rather spend my money on mods rather than cleaning products. basically let me know what you guys use for wash, wax, exhaust tips, wheel shine, interior care, etc. I'd really appreciate it. i'm going to talk to a detailer tomorrow who owned an L and get his input as well. please help me out. thanks.

Thumbs up

Used a lot of waxes in my years, Zaino is the best wax I have ever used. It's worth the extra money.

$35,000 for an L, It's worth the $$$$$ for Zaino. IMHO

Nu-Finish.

Cheap and effective. Consumer Reports rated it best in one of their tests a few years ago, and I've been using it since. I have tried a lot of other stuff, and keep going back to it.

Cool

I've used several bottles of Nu-Finish before, not impressed.

Anyone check Consumer Reports lately, Zymol Wax and cleaner in blue liquid bottle is rated #1, I believe now.

Zaino isn't that expensive..

CHROME = Nevrdul You can find it at Wal-Mart. I have seen this stuff work miracles on chrome.

My Cherry Wet Wax arrives on Monday. I paid $22 plus shipping for a gallon. About the same price as Zaino, but I have seen other's Lightnings after a wax job with this Cherry stuff, and I told myself, "I want my L to look like that!!!"

Sometimes you get what you pay for. Sometimes you just pay more. Nu-Finish is good stuff.

You say you want to be able to go to your local Walmart and get your wash-stuff. I d/k about yours, but mine is usually a cluster*******.

Why not pull up www.coatsproducts.com, scroll thru, and then order some good stuff--at reasonable prices. I am using their Hawaiian Shine Car Wash Soap, Cherry Wet Wax(the easiest-to-apply, high-quality wax there is[inmho]), and Miracle Mist(works wonders between washes). Yes, your initial outlay will be more, but you will have a gallon(each) of quality products that will last and your L's finish will 'last' too. They can be delivered to your door in a few days. Btw, nothing against W/M, they just don't carry the wash 'stuff' I want.

Hey,

I've heard good things about Cherry Wet wax and it is cheaper than Zaino, I'm not trying to sound like a Zaino commercial.

A couple guys I know that used Cherry Wet wax, went back to Zaino after they used all their Cherry Wet wax up. From what I have read on the boards, they are both about the same quality and shine. I have never seen a waxed truck with Cherrry Wet Wax.

So get whatever wax you like.

Here's what I use.......deep inhale....

wax---Meguire's cleaner wax then pure carnuba

wheels---Eagle One A2Z wheel cleaner

soap---Meguire's deep cystal

chrome--eagle one (basically nevr dull)

interior---wipe it all down with a damp towel, windex to remove dirt, I do NOT use anything on the dash, I hate the glare and residue left behind. Also a 6hp shop vac for major carpet suckin'

I also recommend a good buffer, orbital for general waxing and QUALITY bonnets/pads.
