Tips??? I wouldn't remove the calipers. Just cover everthing with newspaper. Stay in a well vented area. I would use a brush to get all debris off, and paint several coats. Nothing else to it. Just make sure to cover everthing around the calipers. What color are you painting them. I have a silver w/ blue calipers. I think that this is a great look mod. Good luck. Dageon

Are y'all just painting the caliper only or the entire brake assy?

What's a "Folia Tec Kit" and why not use Rustolium paint?

Fronts and rears or just fronts?

Thanks

Rustolium won't take the heat that is generated by the brakes.

Here you go. Sorry about the quality of the photo. There is nothing wrong with your computer, I just got the camera from a Cracker Jack box. I painted both the front and back with about four coats of Plasti-Kote caliper paint.

The heat built up by the brakes will cook Rustoleum. I was told to use either brake caliper paint or high temp engine paint. I think I am going to paint mine red. I am just worried about it peeling or flaking and looking like crap in the future. I don't want to keep repainting them every few months.

Depends on the kit and application. You could get slotted and dimpled rotors and they're inexpensive. With a better pad, fluid and cooling ducts, the stopping power is much improved.

Then there are the offroad only kits. One kit is a better rotor that bolts on using the stock calipers. Then, there is a larger rotor that bolts on using the stock calipers (with a bracket). (See Brake Project at the Road Racing Forum NLOC)

There's one more thats even more radical....
