Talking Bought my Lightning on Tuesday. WOW!

I have been waiting for this day for so long and it has finally come. I was the owner of a 1996 Impala SS(loved that car), but it was time for something new, something better. I decided on the Lightning about 6 months ago. I have been saving ever since and was able to buy the sucker outright (with the trade-in of the Impala too). It's mine, all mine... Anyways. It's a black beauty with no bed liner and no floppy tonneau and 5 (count'm) 5 miles. Future plans are long and extensive, but bring lots of excitement. I will probably due Rino-guard in the bed covered by a fiberglass tonneau. Following that will be a pulley, intake, chip, exhaust, tunes, etc... I will take pictures and post them just as soon as it stops raining here in Florida.

Welcome to the board, you might as well go ahead and forward your banking info to a tuner, they'll be getting most of it from now on.

Enjoy it. It takes a long time to get the grin off your face. L owners understand. Bob.

Congratulations and welcome to the family. Now builtfordfast
just told you a half truth. While it is true the black L's are fast they just simply are not as fast as the Silver. If you don't believe me ask any Silver L owner and they will back me up on this. Seriously, I know you are going to love your L and I wish you the best with it.

Congratulations!. I did that exact same trade. I too loved my '96 Impala SS but my L is WAY better. Take it from me. The L is the best vehicle I have ever owned (especially after installing the famous chippenfilter )

Smile Thanks to all!

Thank you all for your hospitality. As far as the fastest... definetly black. I've been watching them for quite some time and would agree with all those who feel the black L dominates the pack.

Greg,

I wish I had an L. I have two kids, hence the S'Cab.

That being said, check into the BedRug by Wise industries. I am in the middle of installing mine. After much research, I went with the BedRug over Line-X. You can find BedRugs for around (or less than ) $300.

Good luck with your new L. When my daughters are driving age, I'll get an L of my own (or the equivalent 12-15 years from now).

The dealer

I bought it from Maroone Ford of Delray, FL. The sales man's name was Dave McCarthy. He is the s#!t. I would recommend him to any future L buyer.

Welcome Greg.... I too had a Impala SS, a '95 and I liked the car a lot. However, the L is WAY better. You are going to have fun.
