Question Santa Ana Wheel

Back in January someone said that they had sent their 2001 stock L rims to Santa Ana Wheel to be chromed. I was just wondering how that turned out. How much do they charge and how long does it take them to do it? Isn't there a form that is needed to do the transaction? Sorry to clog up the forum with old info...... but the search is still down.

I would like to know if there are other options than Santa Ana wheels. I seem to remember some people not being pleased with the quality but I think Santa Ana finally made it right.

All Chrome is not Created Equal .... or something like that.

Angry DON'T DO IT

Santa Ana Wheel

I had nothing but troubles with them......from *****ty chrome plating to over charging my credit card (and sending it over its limit ) $700!!!!!!!!!!

I would not recommend them at all...........they are far from an organized company. Of course this is all IMHO.

Santa Ana Did a GREAT Job on my 2002 Wheels

jrjen2

Chase at Santa Ana did exactly what he promised me he would do.
I sent them my 2002 wheels in late December, and told him I wanted the same wheels back as my wheels only had 5 miles on them and had absolutely no damage (I could have opted to exchange mine for a set that was already done). I stamped my wheels before I sent them out, and know for certain I got the same ones back. Santa Ana even called my home on the day they shipped my wheels back, to let me know they were in route. Chase originally told me it would take 2-3 weeks plus shipping. I got them back 4 weeks to the day from when I sent them out. Two weeks of that time was shipping back and forth. My total charges were $540(return shipping included). $40 of this was because I had them send 2 additional center caps at $20 each to go with the sale of my chrome 99 wheels. My chrome looks excellent, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Santa Ana will fax you the required form if you call them. Or you can contact them through their website at: http://santaanawheel.com
There you have it, now good luck with your choice.

Oh man, now I am really stuck. Soap says Santa Ana Wheel Sucks and Lightning Bob says they are great. I have been eyeing both Santa Ana and AAA for awhile. AAA Rims wants $800 with an exchange, plus I gotta pick up all the shipping. I have not talked with Santa Ana on the phone, but it sounds like $500 and I pay to ship them there. Either way, I am gonna get raped by the post office. My rims will be about $40 bucks a piece to ship priority mail and $25 by parcel post to and from Alaska. I don't like the idea of putting the L up on blocks for a month or so, but I guess that if I am gonna do it then I better do it before summer. Thanks for all the help guys!!!!!!!!

Tirerack.com sells New Ford rims and sells new ford chrome chrome rims. At one time they did exchange as well.
Not sure if they have 2001's in chrome

jrjrn2,

Check with some of the guys that do restorations locally. There may be some one local that can strip and Chrome your wheels. Just a sugestion, if you drive on salt you are better offf powder coating your wheels. Should be able to do powder for about 50.00/wheel.

Santa Ana

I too had a very good experience with Santa Ana. They said it would be about 4-6 weeks, but they must not be doing their 3000 wheels a month, at this time, I got mine back in less than two weeks. $90 plus tax. The shipping was ~$130 from upstate NY. The wheels really look great, can't wait to get them on (After no more snow and ice). BTW they wouldn't take a credit card, shipped them COD.

Iam glad to hear that Santa Ana has got their problems straighten out. I looked into having them plated my 99 wheels, but every set I looked at was a terrible plating job, and I looked at a dozen sets!!! Now I have a silver 01 and am happy with my stock wheels, but if I ever change my mind

I had my 2000 wheels plated by Santa Ana just over a year ago. It is never rained on, only about 2500 miles on the rims and the plating is peeling on 2 very bad, and the other 2 have bubbles coming up on them already. Very poor plating.

Well, I called Santa Ana this morning and they told me that they did not have any 01 chrome rims in stock, but they would in about three weeks if I wanted to exchange them. They said that they could get them to me for $600 with shipping (that ain't too bad considering I live in AK.) Anyway, I was pretty convinced to go with them over AAA, but then I got home and read what Fast Gator and mrfordboy wrote and now I am not so sure. I suppose that I could deal with some poor customer service, but I am not gonna spend all the $$$$ on rims that are of poor quality. I think that I will email them and give them a link to this page and tell them to read all the negative things said about them and see if they can explain it. I forgot to ask if they offer any kind of warranty.
