tire went flat on me today
I'm riding along today on my way to work..When i exit off the highway a guy in a georgia power truck is pointing at my truck motioning his mouth and drives off to the right as i'm sitting at the light. I just thought he was complimenting my truck so i motioned a thumbs up to him. Then when i'm on the main road heading a guy rolls up and is breaking his neck looking at my truck and i'm feeling like the SHiznit by now. Then another guy in a ford Dually finally rolls down hiw window and tell me my tire is fried. So luckily i see an NTB and pull off..i'm feeling like an idiot now but i couldn't even tell my tire was flat, (no shakes or wobbles etc.) Well since my treads are about gone on all four tires I asked them to price a set of F1s for me...He just shook his head and spun the computer around and said eat your heart out.. 310 dollars a piece!!
i told him i could probably find those a hell of a lot cheaper than that from tire rack (not know if they actually were, just word of mouth). He told me to get figures from them and they would match them. well i call around and the cheapest i found for a set was $886 installed. He said he would get them in first thing in the morning so i said ok.. Well a coworker was walking in and i told him the deal. He told me that he'd be able to beat that.. He handed me a tire rack wholesale catalog he just so happened to be reading. I didn't think i could find any F1's any cheaper than 886. Anyway, i looked up the F1's and saw $188 a tire..and i was like yeah but their gonna get me in the shipping and handling..I called anyway to price it al together. He told me $789 with shipping and handling and i was shocked! So i called the other place up and canceled the order and placed one with tire rack and they told me they'd be here in 2 to 3 business days. I feel like i'm getting a very good deal compared to paying 1300 for a set. For the time being i gotta drive around with this ugly looking spare on my baby. Oh well, this just spoil the point of even washing it this weekend
