Question First time at the track, any suggestions?

Any pointers on a good launch? Do I keep the overdrive on? Any suggestions??

I have 01 L, my friend is bringing his Lexus 400GS. We have a bet, if I get into the 13's, he washes my L, if I don't , I have to wash his GS.....he seems to think the best I can do is high 14's.

The only mods I have are a magnaflow muffler and K&N filter....

Kick his butt

First air down the tires to about 27psi. Turn the overdrive off, launch from idle to 800 rpms. Rollinto the throttle don't just punch it to the floor. Then just hold it to the floor, and have fun.

Stay out of the water. Spin the tires to clean them off. Stage shallow and go on the last yellow light.

What Don and DH said.........and, you could remove some weight such as the spare, hitch, and jack. Most guys also remove the tail gate--a lighter truck is a quicker truck. . You will win that bet! .

One other thing...get to the track with about 1/4 tank of gas....saves weight...just like all the other suggestions. Obviously your friend doesn't know the power of these trucks...My grandmother could run a 13 second 1/4 mile with these trucks...
