I dont have the money to buy the bassani cat back right now, but i want a good sounding muffler. I raced a 99 L the other night on the highway and his truck had a mean sound to it. I won btw.

If raspy is what you want, then fork over around $80-$100 for some straight pipes...sound is great for the money!

not looking for a glass pack sound, The L that i raced sounded like a cobra with flows. Deep and rumble with a little rasp.

JDM has a c/b with two round Magnaflow mufflers. He calls them "Silver Bullets" and they are loud. I went with the single Magnaflow with the internal X-pipe and a quieter sound.

Hey Dan,

How do you like your MagnaFlow CB? Which muffler did you get? What do your tips look like? It will take it about 500 miles to get broken in and really sounding good!

Mind if I stop by sometime this week and check it out?

I am looking for a little more rumble at an idle. The highway sound is loud enough for me. Any imput would be appreciated. Thanks. Bob.

Sammy:

I'll be home Sat. am getting ready for SDR, so come by then or at the track. The Magnaflow p/n is 14568. It is 22" long and oval in shape. The tips look like two 50mm, highly polished, stainless steel howitzers .

Your muffler is the quieter version of the one I got. I got the 14468. How do you like the sound?

This exhaust decision is driving me nuts!!!
It’s between JDM’s new silver bullet cat back and the Bassani.
I want the deep low tone at low speeds and the tough sound at WOT.
My worry is how loud at cruising speed. I’m already gathering materials to try to quiet the road noise that comes up from the back of the cab from the wide tires.
Money is not the issue, which one will not require a stereo amp upgrade to over come the exhaust noise at highway speeds?

I use the Borla. It sounds really good not to much in the cab noise but there is plenty outside. Also heard good things about the magnaflow. Hope this will help it's my .02. Oh and the new SPINTECH is real good sounding muffler had it on my Dakota R/T.
