will any psp chip work?? help

Just wondering if I purchase a used psp chip (and have re-burned of course), does it matter if I get a 99, 00, 01 etc. and does it matter if it is a single program, dual, 4-way etc. I don't know if this makes a difference since it is being re-burned anyway. Thanks for your help. If I get this, I will be contacting you Sal...and possibly for some other things as well. Thanks

According to Sal it doesn't matter. He can reburn it for anything or at least I hope so. Right now he's reburning a 99 programmed chip for my 00.

Pretty Sure the PSP physical chips are all interchangeable. It is the software on them that is specific to the year of the truck. Since each year has a diffeent PCM code the tuners write software to match and optimize the code for that year.....

In english : You cant run a chip burned for a 2001 in a 1999 but you can have that chip reburned with software for a 1999...

Im sure Sal will chime in soon to clarify if we missed anything.

I am pretty sure each of the tuners can program any of there brand chips for any year. I remember this in a tread before. I think chip sizes are the only thing that has changed some...

The hardware (chip) is universal, the software (programing) is specific to the year/PCM program on your truck. Buy it and have it burned for your truck.

You can use it as long as it's an EEC V chip (96 and up vehicles). We can put any year program on it that uses the EEC V PCM. What CAN'T be done, is say if you bought a chip from a Gen 1 Lightning, that uses an EEC IV PCM. Then you'd be out of luck.
