about time ford released another car to compete or shall i say blow away the vette. looks like this one will give the new vw a run for it's money at la mans and if it is only 100k then it will be about 50k cheaper. can't wait to see them on the street out here.

Did you notice that it'll have a 5.4L Supercharged engine?

It's going to have 4 valve per cylinder heads, however.

All of Fords higher performance vehicles come out under the SVT tag: Lightnings, Cobras, modified Contours and now modified Focus. Will the GT40 be in its own league or is there a possibility that it could fall in with the SVT line?

This makes me a very happy camper. I've been waiting for them to do this for a long time now. The GT-40 is in a class with no other domestic car. The Vette or Viper will not be able to compete in the same field without drastic measures. It's kind of funny, there's talk of Chevy designing a mid-engine Vette now after having felt that they were being upstaged with the announcement that the GT-40 was going to reach production. That would be a big mistake for the Vette, cause they would have to hack it to pieces.

There has been talk of Chevy doing a mid-engined vette since Zora-Arkus Duntov was at the helm of the program...it was always one of his dreams.

It has never happened and I'm pretty sure never will.

GT40 is cool...but I personally don't like the styling.

I think this is AWESOME!!! My heart is still throbbing...I love FORD and feel so good now that they are coming out with this monster.

I personally think the front looks great....but the rear could use a little remodeling (more curvy)

Its a damned fine example of mid 20th century design. I'd like to see Ford do something a little more contemporary, like a Murcielago or Maclaren F1. I wish they had built the Indigo, thats a car I could get excited about.
