Question 22" tire Question

I am probly buying some 22" rims, and the tires I want are 285/30/22...If I were to go with this size, would the rims get banged up too much 'cause of how small the tire is? I only want such a small tire so that my truck is not raised up any, but I do not want to need new rims after a year of driving on them!

I am most likely going to buy the KMC bofa, cause I found a GREAT deal on them, $4,200 for rims and tires, Dunlop SP 9000's!

CrazyFoo,
That is a great price, and I think that combo works great.
I had the same set up (22x10 KMC's with the 285/30/22 SP9000's) and never hurt any of the rims. I wouldn't say to hit all the pot holes that you can or anything but for everyday driving you shouldn't have any problems. I drove my truck from Maine to Jersey and back with the 22's on and never made a scratch on them. And the roads got pretty nasty on the way to Jersey. I really would have like to see the 22" Spank's on your truck as they are the best looking wheel out there in my opinion, but it is your money and for that price I can't blame you for going with the Bofas, as I did the same thing. Maybe I will have to get the 22" Spanks in the spring, what was the best deal you found for them with tires?

Bill

At Discount tire they wanted $5,300 for The 22" Spanks and Dunlops. BUT, now they are making the spank in 23" x 10" and 24" x 10". If I had more money, I would definitely go for @ least the 23's!

And also, Goodyear is now making the F1 in 285/30/22, I was thinking about trying that tire too. What would you say would be my best bet?
