Has anyone here put a 2001 MAF on their 2000 0r 99 trucks?

I am wanting to put one on my truck, but was wondering if when I try to order it, will they ask me for a computer code? Also, can I run this mass air meter with my stock computer without any problems? And could anyone tell any major gains? Thanks in advance!

maf

i believe upgrading will require a tuner chip. I don't believe you will notice any major increases with just the size difference, but putting on one of the tuner's filter/intake kits with the maf and the chip to compensate will.

Not a very good first mod. You will need a chip to prevent the computer from throwing a code. You will not see much benefit from this mod by itself or very lightly modded. As you add pulleys, chip, T/B, long tube headers, etc is when a 90mm MAF will help. You can probably buy one with the rubber boot (old one won't fit) from one of the tuners for less money. My .02

I've done this, don't have a chip and it's never thrown me a code, but I didn't notice much difference either.
