Anyone running a 16x10 in the back with a lowered truck and the new 28x10x16 Hoosier Tires. I am not to sure if this happened due to wheel hop or to much squatting, but the tire hit the bottom of the wheel well and caused the paint to crack....

 

What exactly did the truck feel like this weekend when you
said you had wheel hop? Are you sure it wasn't tire shake?
Was the track preped, were you spinning the Hoosiers, where
exactly were you on the track, and etc..?
I can't imagine you having wheel hop with the traction bars...

I don't know if the traction bars are worth it, I've ran my truck without them with the 26" E.T. streets and have had no problems with them and I've pulled some low 1.7 hihg 1.6 60 foot times, and that was last year with allot less power. my trucks hooks and goes without no problem at the track.

 

When fiberglass is flexed it will crack the paint. The outer skins of your bed is fiberglass. You are lucky you didn't rip a big chuck out of it!

 

The pass I snapped my shaft I had a 1.72 60 foot on the 26x11.50x16 ET streets. I had never had a traction problem without the traction bars either. I dont know whats going on now. I mainly installed them for axle wrapup.


I felt a bouncy feeling right off the line. It could be tire shake or come from spinning. Yes the track was treated. Any other thoughts??
