Talking YIPPEE!!! (and quick exhaust ?)

Hi Guys (and Gals). I just wanted to scream out to the world and say "YES!!!! I finally did it! What a rush. I drove a 99 L about 6 months after I bought my 98 F150, and spent the next 3+ years modifying trying to get close to that speed. Alas, no could do. Everytime a saw an L, my heart (and stomach) yearned for that truck. Well, sounds like Valentines day was good for a lot of folks. Momma and I traded our 98 Escort and 98 F150 in for 02 Stang GT and 02 L. Haven't even driven the Stang, yet. Can't keep away from the L

I haven't been on this board for quite some time. Nice to see it's still rocks (new handle now).

I have a real simple question. I don't have the bank right now for a lot of mods, but I must have a quick, relatively inexpensive sound boost. I had a modified exhaust on my 98 (3" cat back w/ magnaflow). I like the throaty, yet inobtrusive sound of the magnaflow. Any recommendations for a quick growl? Thanks.

Thanks all! I was thinking more along the lines of a quick ($100) cut in muffler like a Magnaflo (or similar). Later, I'll consider the performance exhaust (cha-ching!). For now, I just want my buggy to sound a little more like the beast that it is. I'm sure most of the high end flow through muffler are pretty similar, performance wise. Any thoughts? Thanks.

B-n-B:

01lightning had a stainless Magnaflow(2 in-2 out) installed a few weeks ago. I heard it when it was installed and it was 'quiet'. He visited me a few days ago and now it 'growls'.

I'm getting the Magnaflow cat-back Tuesday with plans for long-tube headers in the future.

Everybody says the Basanni is the loudest but it is expensive. You could get an aluminum Magnaflow for about $100 and install it yourself?

Dan

Congratulations - I would go for the magnaflow, I have the 14468 stainless 2in/2out and its sounds awesome - exactly as you described yours - very throaty, but inobtrusive. It has a good idle/highway sound, and a really mean "V8" roar at WOT

Congrats. I had the same feeling last year, when I picked up my new 01 L on the very same day, Valentine's day. I also have the magnaflows too and love it. Not too loud but still has that nice deep rumble.
Good luck.
