I have a 2001 Ford Lightning. I've only had it for 1 month so I don't know that much about the factory alarm and a dealer installed alarm. So here is the question; I have two tones when I push the remote top set the alarm. One is high pitched and the other is the horn. I need to know if I have a dealer install with remote remote start and everything that goes with it. If someone could help me out it would be appreciated.

All you have is the factory security system, and a dealer added aftermarket alarm. The horn beeps from the factory security system, the chirp is the added alarm system.

 

Yes that is correct but what i want to know is that when ny truck was bought it has a pamplet about the bronze silver and gold series alarm system and the bottom line(bronze) is shown with remote start.

Scan or post a pic of the remote on your keychain and I might be able to tell you if it has a remote start. What brand does the alarm pamphlet say it is?

 

Mr Jingles, wouldn't you get a better answer from the dealer that installed the alarm? I would drop by the dealership or give your salesman a call.
