Engine Cleaning...

and how do you go about it? What do I need to look out for? What cleaners do you use? Do I have watch for electrical connections? Do you use a hose? Any info would be helpful, thanks in advance!

Me too, Simple Green (25% SG and 75% water), spray it all down good, use an old toothbrush to get any heavy stuff off, rinse LIGHTLY, do not use high pressure water. I use a hose about 1/2 open. I start it right away too and drive it to heat everything up and dry it off. To dress it all up, take some Armor All, the plain white stuff, mix it about 50/50 with water, then spray everything down again. I recommend doing this outside and not in the garage, or else you may have a hockey rink on the garage floor. Wife's do NOT like that, trust me. Then just let it all dry again and you have a cleran and shiny engine compartment. I do mine 2-3 times a year.

I used CD-2 Engine Detailer, a 2 can package that has 1 can of engine cleaner and 1 can detailing spray. Very easy to use and the results were outstanding. The only thing I covered were the pulleys and belts, especially when using the detailing spray.

About $7.50 at Autozone.

A great product.
