Angry No Respect

I just got word that the new guy around town that has a '01 L has been spotted by a buddy of mine at the gas station where my friend works. I saw this guy once. It's a pretty small town that I live in. Just 3 of us L owners around here. The third guy keeps his parked a lot. Just a show vehicle to him.

Well anywho, this new guy apparently comes into the gas bar and fills it up with 87 octane. My buddy tries to stop him to go for the 91 octane, but the guy says "What?" The story later develops into the fact that he drives it in the winter without snow tires, has his 16yr old daughter learning how to drive, in the L, in the winter, without snow tires, and fills up with 87 octane, and has his front plate on crooked, and has the truck caked with dirt/snow/mud/dried salt. My buddy starts telling him how much I love and take care of MY truck and how I don't let anyone drive it, don't take it out in snow, fill it with at least 91 octane and care for and respect it a lot more than he does. His response, "Hey man, it's just a truck." And then tells my buddy that his friend (me) is a wuss for not driving in snow.

I can't believe this. What a discrace! I've been trying to catch up to this guy for a little while, and then now this. I can't believe someone would go out of their way to buy this kind of truck and use and abuse it like a winter beater. I have a little more respect for this high powered 2wd(not 4wd snow-driving truck) limited production sport truck. Don't feel like sriting it off. It's kind of a rare deal vehicle. I guess some of us live for our trucks, and others just drive them. What a sad state of affairs. No offense to those who take their L's out in the winter. I'm sure you all at least have snow tires and care for it. This news has rather sickened and discusted me. Just needed to vent. Sorry.

don't sweat it all. let him call you whatever he wants to.

Just make sure you do a really nasty burnout infront of him when his engine detonates from such low octane crappy winter gas!

Me too! But Dreamin and my wife have been suggesting that I get a Z06...

BTW, I skipped a few laps and rode with Dreamin in his Z06 at Laguna Seca (we're in the same run group). That car is incredible!

Chebby finally got it right. However, if racing were my thing, I'd get a dedicated open wheel car, and use the L. to tow it to and from the track.

Is a Z06 a Corvette? I've had new Corvettes and I wouldn't trade my L for two of them if I had to keep them.

I'm a Truck Man!! Period

Tell you what. I'll give you my Lightning if you give me a Z06. You can't keep the second one for being a nice guy!

Captain: Imagine a hard 1-2 shift in the Lightning (mods, etc.). Multiply it by 10. To give you an idea of the power, that's what the 2-3 and 3-4 shifts are like. The braking is even more amazing!

I feel like taking it away from the disrespectable jackhole. Dealerships should make it mandatory to follow certain guildlines upon ownership of such a vehicle. I mean, if I were to treat high perf. truck like that, I'd at least have it be a Chev.

Hmmm, I drive mine in the winter on the Eagles...Wanna take it away from me? Point is, it's his truck and everytime somebody does a cosmetic mod to their ride we go through this. Unless you or Ford are paying the c note who has the right to tell him where when why and how he can drive his truck. There are always exceptions. But sounds to me like the guy can afford a teenager AND a Lightning, so more power to him lol

Thumbs down

He's a complete !diot..

I hope the 16 year old doesn't hurt themself or someone else in a 380bhp truck in the snow on performance tires..

Worse though - someone is going to buy this truck that's been abused & thrashed when this guy sells it..

Too each his own..
