Cool

Drew,

You're over thinking this whole thing. After you get on a nice piece of road kick off overdrive. Floor it and let off about 4 times to help seat the rings. Turn your O/D back on vary speeds and drive the **** out of it every chance you get. Change the oil when you get home.

When you change the oil - make sure the oil filter is pre-filled...

I broke my 02 in gradually - varying throttle as the miles added..
I didn't abuse it but I didn't baby it either.
By 200miles she wasn't getting WOT or redline but I was increasing revs..
After the 1st oil change at 500miles I ran it harder but didn't do sustained high rpm. Quik burts.

At 1k it was at 140mph - the Vette let off at 120mph for reasons unknown to me.. Emtpy freeway.. Hope he didn't get stopped

A few weeks ago I posted about Quaker State oil in my L..
Thanks to the members of this board I took that crap out after 2 days of use & went w/Castrol 5w-30..

After you do the 1st oil change LISTEN carefully on cold start up...
After my 2nd change I noticed piston slap when it's cold..
I'll live with it - I don't want them touhing my motor - it runs fine..

Lastly, I noticed I had to be careful with my drying shimmy on the blue paint.. Couple coats of wax will take care of that + I make sure the shimmy is wet otherwise you'll get marks on the clearcoat..

Congradulations

Every new vehicle I have owned has been broken in the same way I intend to drive it it's entire life. I was a little upset with my dealer and left some good black marks when I left the dealership. I got on mine from the beginning, but never did any long term WOT. Short bursts with a couple of 125MPH shots for fun. No problems yet. More and more smiles everyday!!

To avoid putting the Miles on it, I would have it Transported right to your closest track.
