Spike, that was a great video!!!! Gave me flashbacks of my quest at Laguna Seca in Gran Turismo 3 on PS2 this past weekend, I remembered every corner. Hope to see more of the Lightning tearing up L.S.!!!!

Spike,

Great work on the video! I was just at Seca in July for the AMA finals, and this makes me want to do the m/c race school there this Summer.... sigh, so many toys, so little time!

Tell your Girlfriend "Thanks!"

Ladysmith Black Mambazo (it's a live recording at Royal Albert Hall).

I didn't dub it in - it just happened to be playing on the CD in the background. The cameras were on the front seat and the morning was so beautiful, I thought it would be good footage to show people. When I watched it the night I got home, my ideas completely changed for the video. Maybe someday, I'll put something together with my original idea.

I bought the CD the night before, while the valve stems where being replaced on my track wheels. That was one of the safety items I found marginal the day before. I didn't have a chance to listen to it until the drive down.

Spike

Stan,
Call me at home (it's the 979 number) if you want and I'll walk you through it. The dial up connection will work good enough for the smaller vid.

Here are the steps if you want to try it on your own:

If you have a Mac: click on the link above. It'll work.

If you have a PC:

1. Download quicktime making sure you select the correct operating system and follow the instructions. BTW, you don't have to enter an email address for the download to work. For the non-computer types, make note of where you download the installer! Then you won't have trouble finding it.

2. Once the installer is downloaded, run it from your computer. There are only a few steps to follow. When it asks which type of installation, choose Minimal cause that's all that's required. For slow dial up connections, it won't take too long. The installer is about 4.5 mb.

3. After it's done installing, you don't have to read the ReadMe file or the other item. Just close the window.

At this point you're done, but if you want to possibly improve the video download/playback, do the following steps.

4. A Control Panel will be installed called "Quicktime" and there is one step most people don't do that will help performance. So, go to Start, Settings, Controls Panels and Open Quicktime. Adjust the connection speed to what you have. For instance, if you connect to the internet with a modem and the connection is only 28.8 kps, check that box. On the other hand, if it's 128k dsl, check that box. Most of the vids I make will be prepared for internet streaming, that is the video will start playing as soon as enough data has been received.

5. If you plan to play the video several times, instead of clicking on the link above, right click the vid and select download link (or something similar). Then, the file is on your computer and you can play it anytime.

Ruslow,
Regarding step 5, I might mail you the FULL size of the video on CD. It's much better when viewed in a larger picture. Just in case, download and install quicktime!

Spike
