Just wanted to let you who are thinking of buying a L, definitely check out Canada before you buy. I live in Vancouver, and just recently bought a new L off the lot. The list was 43,000CAN(converts to approx. $25,500 US)
I ended up walking off the lot paying 38K ( $24K US). Additional costs are 14% taxes (7% which you can claim back if you are an american citizen.) The dealers up here are very weary of selling any pickup that they know is going straight south. But find the right one and they don't ask questions, they just want to move it off the lot.

Please tell me the name of that dealer. You knocked me off my foot with that one. Though i am seriously considering buying one from someone in canada.

 

i am selling my 01 and i can tell you for a fact, that if you bought one new off the lot, you will eventually get fined. the trucks are sold in canada with the understanding that they can not be sold into the united states for six months. when i bought mine i was told that fact. when they discover the dates arent met they will issue a fine. after six months they can be sold into the united states.

I assume that's for an 02L? $38K is an excellent price especially if you're NOT using x-plan. I'm thinking of getting one in Edmonton for close to that price using x-plan (I think one dealer quoted me $37.5K). If you don't mind me asking, which dealership in Vancouver did you get it from and do they have any others???
