How do I remove Orange Peel?

What is the best way to remove orange peel? Is it something I can do myself or should I take it back to Ford dealer and try to have it done under warranty? Hate to take it to the dealer because they usually screw something else up or it comes out worse than when it went in. Oh, the vehicle is a 02 Lightning silver color. Any help greatly appreciated.

You might just have to learn to live with it. Unless you want to re-paint the area, then you will have to worry about match Unless you want to paint the whole truck....naw!

Orange Peel

Wet sand, wet sand, and buff, buff. Being very careful not to sand through the clearcoat. If you do then it will take some clearing, blending, wet sanding, and buffing again.

u dont have to repaint just wet sand and buff
i would leave it to a pro cause u can do serious damage to
ur paint if you dont know what ur doing. Also remember
ur taking coats of clear off when u wet sand.I learned to live with mine.

Why not take it to the dealer? What have you got to loose? If they make it worse, they fix it. If you make it worse, it's your problem.

If they screw up something else, they fix it. If you screw up something else, it's your problem.

Come on Boys,

orange peel is a bad finish on your paint. if you look at it from the right angle it looks like the outer peel of an orange.

The best way to see it is to :
Press your right cheek (pick one) against the surface you wish to view and have a real close looksee!!!...........JR
