What have you done to it lately? These damn lights come on for LOTS of things. Mine came on once when I left the gas cap off! Also came on when I left the engine oil filler cap off. So, it could be something easy, simple or stupid. That would be the good part. Mods also cause these amomalies.

1) Put your key in the ingnition.
2) hold the odometer button down
3) Put your key in the run postion for about 3 sec
4) when your odo says tESt let go of the odo button
5) you are now in test mode. As you now touch the odo button the odo will bswitch to a tach, speedo, test display for engine codes and a few other things.

The Fuel cap loose is the most likely but do not ignore the light. One of us in your area may have a code reader the get a description of the code out of the system.

ok well it isn't the gas cap. i took that off and put it back on. but i did go through the test menu on the odometer. i did notice one thing that i hope some of you guys can check on your L's hopefully. my oil came up 000. i really don't know anything about how the electrical system works in the L or what the readings should look like. thanks in advance....

I would just disconnect the batt for a few min then try it again. prob just a 02 sensor or something, Do you run fuel additives?

Take your battery loose, then make sure the chip is all the way in as well....

Not sure why someone suggested trying the 'test' function without a scanner or code-puller? The 'oil' reading at 000 is 'normal' in the 'test' function--that function doesn't tell you anything but you can get eng. coolant temps, odometer, tach, and speedometer readings while driving with the 'test' function 'on'.
