Electric Tailgate Locks

I know this has been covered before, but what is available? Which one do you recommend?

I wish the search worked

A retail customer will probably pay between $60-100 for the lock and maybe $20-40 to install. It is a very easy install. Instructions are included.

Q. What about non-retail? A. The same thing I paid.

Q. Where do you find it? A. Any truck accesory store online or local.

Q. Does it work with the factory keyless entry? A. Yes, tie it in to the passenger side remote entry wires and it will lock and unlock with second push of remote unlock button. Very simple. I installed mine.

are the wires already there or do you have to route them all the way to the back of the truck?

I just installed mine today. The directions had the wrong wire colors though and did not mention that the emergency brake assembly had to be removed to get to the harness. I looked under the dash and kick panel for 2 hours! Finally I pulled the door panel to trace the wires to the factory lock motor and got the right colors. They are red/yellow and pink/black for anyone doing this on a 2000L. I also needed to tweak the lock bracket a bit.

The lock is by Pop-A-Lock, don't khow if the Pace Edwards is any easier/better.

Works great so far. (After overcoming the sh*t instructions. This should only take 1.5 hours total.)

WHTLIGHTN,

Let us know how you like that one. It looks like it is a good set up and not a bad price.
