I just got the new Performance Products cataloge and noticed the new addition of the hyper programmer specific to the Lightning. Anyone know anything about it, such as the good and the bad usefulness. Or the pluses and minuses vs. a chip? It lists for $349.95.

 

I have one for my wife’s 98 4.6 f150 and It sucks IMO.

Go with the chip from Mike. I pissed away the money that I spent for this thing. reasons why in order 1. performance - ha, so this is more HP huh all it did was cause the engine to ping it it was more power it is not noticeable. 2. trans shifting - maybe it made the trans shift a little firmer but not much I can still count to 2or 3 when it shifts from 2nd to 3r at WOT. 3. speedo correction - It doesn't do that apparently that only works on the GM cars. That is your options that you can chose from with that unit I have used chips from Mike in the past with great luck and as soon as I can sell this hypergarbage I will buy another chip from Mike.

 

i also just recently purchased one fo my 99 mustang and it really was not worth the money. it only worked for the speedometer and the rev limiter moved 500 rpm. the shift did not change or the shiftpoints. i sent it back and got a chip(much better)!

 

Read the Classifieds, I have a good chip for sale, however. If you want the Hyper Programmer I'll send you one for the cost of the postage.
