Cool creativity at its best

alright guys tell me what you think

a choped (as in choptop) Lightning. or any f-150 single cab for that matter. is this realistic? has anybody done it? i am going to look into it and see what i can find about price and whatnot. would any of you guys consider doing it? anyone who is handy with photoshop or something like that are welcomed to give it a try on the virtual plain and post a pic!

Jason Brown's 7 second 95 Lightning has a 6 inch chop. That is done for obvious reasons of course :-).

When the search function works again, look for a post by me back about 6-7 months. I did a photoshop job on someone's L. Looks kinda cool. Also, someone posted pics of a real L that's been chopped.

When I get to work tomorrow, I'll see if I have that pic still. I don't think so, but you never know.

this maybe a dumb question but what is the point of doing that? less air drag? looks?

this is somewhat off-topic, but this thread reminded me of this car I saw in los angeles a couple trips ago, an older model cadilac (mexican style) chopped so much the height of the side windows were about 7". i could barely even see the guy that was driving.

sorry, back to original topic now....

Talking the point

J15BIG,

i guess a lot of people who would do this mod would be concerned with wind resistance. but as for me, i just think it really, really looks cool. If I get a little better upper end because of better (or lower amounts of) wind resistance, then its an added bonus! just lettin ya know.

retics4me,

whoever that L belongs to sure is a lucky guy!!

Thumbs down

I have chopped tops before and you won't believe the nightmare you're getting into. Chopping a square top ( 30 model Ford Sedan ) like I did was hard enough but when you get into chopping a top with sloping windshield pillars and curved side glass, it's a whole nother ball game.

Trust me, you want NO part of this! Even the very best body men have huge problems doing it.
