Cool Suspension work just about done.

Here's the truck with a true 3"/4" drop.

There's a few adjustments that I have to make but it's pretty much done. The frame has to be C-notched for sure ( there is only about 3" of travel between the axle and frame right now ) and I have to swap shocks.

Looks nice

I remeber when I first started talking to you rob and I told you and Zor how I wanted to drop my truck and you guys gave me nothing but CHit about dropping my truck because I would loose E.T. and weight transfer for racing. Boy have the times changed!

P.S. Its about time you got some 20"s. I always liked the timeless wheels. How do you like the G-force tires, those where the other tires I wanted to get but Tirerack didn't have them in stock at the time. They got to hook up better then my SP9000's.

Don,

e-mail me.

Joe,

Times have changed. With the c-notch I'll gain another 3" of travel but that's not nearly enough to get me the 60' times I used to have. It will still be respectable though. This year I'm just going to race it a few times, some FFW events and the ILLNESS races. The truck has served me well so I'd like to take it easy this year you know ??

Shoot me an e-mail Joe. I have some issues I'd like to discuss with you.

Hey Rob
I sent you a PM over at SVT for some reason I couldn't send a e-mail from here.

If you don't get it send me one at dhco@rcn.com

Also I found a old post of yours so I know the size 18x10 and 18x9 which will work fine for me.

Looks great Rob. What did you end up using for control arms? If I remember right you bought 2 sets and were deciding which to use. Did one prove to be better than the other? Is there any weight difference between the new ones and the stockers?

I went with Western Chassis arms. The other set I bought were from DJM. The build quality is much better on the Western arms compared to the DJM units and the W.C. arms are made from 4130 chrome-moly. I don't know what DJM uses for their arms but it's probably mild steel.

As far as weight difference goes both aftermarket arms were heavier than the stockers. Approximately 5 lbs. per side.

Thanks Rob. One last question. What are you running for front springs?

krzcwby,

The wheels are 20 x 9.5. The tires are 295/40/20.

Silver-Bolt,

I went with the So-Cal Speed Shop springs ( Eibach ) which are a 1.75" drop on a Lightning. They are a progressive rate and the ride is super nice
