Truck shuddered when i came to a stop!

Truck shuddered when i came to a stop!

Whoa... that was weird I was taking my friends to get something to eat in about 50 + degree weather. I turn the corner and jump on the throttle to show off press it to about 80mph then i let off. Once i came to a full stop the truck shook and shuddered until i gave it some gas it took it some time to warm up once it was warm it stopped shaking and everything was normal. Anyone notice this problem?

my truck died a few times after i installed my "homemade ram-air."
after i took it off it was fine. dont know what the problem was. have you made any air intake mods recently such as ram-air?

I doubt its my ram air kit, ive had it on the truck since august! I think it has to do with my plugs

Mine does this too, when it's cold. If I WOT before it's warmed up and then come to a stop, it has a real rought idle until I give it some more gas. My '99 did this also. Real wierd.

Sounds like your trans to me.

My truck does that real bad now with my tranny all screwed up! I bet you any money its your tranny. You got some big mods on that truck and we all know these transmision's are garbage!

because of the forged pistons it is VERY important to let them warm up

My truck does the same thing, and I'm 100% stock. When coming to a stop or something, the whole thing starts vibrating. It's not a rotor or wheel/tire vibration, i'm talking the whole truck buzzes.

I hope its not my F'ing Tranny AGAIN! I just had it replaced two months ago, and man it took a long time! First time i had it replaced I snapped second gear in half! so I hope it isnt transmission

SilverBullet... know what... I just noticed that our trucks were made VERY VERY close to each other. I think i'm the first or second week of may, and you are the third/fourth week of may.

Oh, OK. So it should be totally warmed up when going WOT? If this is the case that you are pointing to, then all of the racers that ice their engine for a COLD run will do the same, and have for how long? Thanks for the warning...

No, He"s saying you need warm engine, warm oil, cold air, then you can go fast. Never, ever ever WOT with a cold engine.

OK OK So when we sit in the pits for 3-4 hours waiting for our next run and EVERYTHING is cold, we should warm our engines before running. Gotcha. Thanks for the advice, although it hasn't happened yet.

So, back to the main question....anybody know why they shutter like this?

Uh, yeah, Mr. Sarcastic, that would be affirmative. Ever hear of preheating the oil? With our circle track cars everyone preheats the oil while the ice packs are on the intake. That way you still get the cold air while the oil will be warm enough to actually flow through the engine like its supposed to. Maybe some of that technology hasn't filtered down to you some of you drag racers yet

Sorry, had to say it. Actually I've done both so I can't say much
