Chicago Auto Show
I read a press release that Ford would be unveiling the new Mercury Marauder convertible in Chicago. They say the Marauder sedan should be at dealer's lots this summer. Suppose to be around 30k WITH THE 4.6 PUMPED UP TO 300HP/300TQ. So now Ford is looking at consumers response on the convertible. The 4.6 that's in the convertible show car is supercharged and rated 355hp. This with the new supercharged Cobra rated at 390hp only wets my appetite for the new Lightning
A 03 Silver Lightning rated 425/450 hp sure would look good in my driveway!

I hope Ford releases the rumor car soon. I can't wait! I have cash down on something that hasn't been released yet. They better do it at Chicago or soon. It's still just a rumor untill they do it. Ticking me off. They should have done the release of the 03 Cobra and the rumor car here in detroit. That's where they are engineered for the rest of the world. AAHHHHHH! Can't re,re,resist. It will be a 1/4 racer off the showroom floor. I just hope I can keep the Lightning.
Hey Thor
You know better. SVT does their intros at Chicago and they just did that yesterday for the Cobra. Now for the Mach 1 it had it's intro and you can order the garden-variety 4.6 4 valve with the solid axle. It’s cool with the hood scoop and all but I’ll still take the Cobra.

Yea it did about 53 years ago
Niche cars are cool but when you are strapped for cash you need to find a cash cow partner whom can front the initial expense. Many of the specialty cars can never roll down a production line at a profit. Still we can dream.

WCFan,
I didn't see the intro on it? I looked for news of the vehicle's release & couldn't find it. Maybe tomorrow?? Maybe never! And it's not "just" a scoop and isn't just a regular cobra 4V! I never said it was a Mach 1! It's just a rumor. I'm not confirming anything!
Not taking the bait!

I saw the new 2003 cobra even got to sit in it. The car is awsome can't wait for a chance to drive one. Had a chance to talk with many of the SVT people at the reveal and had my picture taken with Tom its on SVTOA.com. One SVT guy there said they have been testing Lightnings with the 500hp GT40 engines he said they haul ***. Whatever powers the Lightning in 03 or 04 will be awsome. And my new engine finnally came should be rollin in a week with new rods and fasteners from JDM.
