Slightly OT: Driving Schools?
My girlfriend and I went to Bondurant last year. It was top notch all the way!! She took the 3 day high-perf class and I took the 4 day class. Some of the benefits to Bondurant are that each person is assigned their own car(Roush modified GT's and a few Cobras) for the entire time. Each exercise includes a lead and follow (the instructors have Crown Vics w/ cobra drivetrains modified by Roush), then you go yourself and then the instructor rides with you to help correct any problems you are having. Most of the time is spent with just you and your own car. Bondurant also has a skid car to simulate ice/snow and that was really cool. Classes are broken into about 4-5 people per instructor and all the instructors were great. I'd say about 80% of the time you are driving. Toward the end, they have an actual race, too...that was fun. Bob was there the whole time and was an interesting guy to talk to. When we were there, many of the people had taken classes at other schools and said Bondurant was the best. I know it is much more costly than most, but I would say it is worth. Best week of my life!
