Question Pulleys,what did I miss?

When I left the 2 psi pulleys were hard to find and people were concerned with over spinning the blower? Now I see pulleys up to 6 psi with the 4 psi being the most common. I was considering a 4 psi pulley because of the gains, but what about the blower speed? Sorry if this is old,but with no search function I just have to ask.

I haven't heard of anyone "overspinning' the blower. Not even with a 6# lower and a 2# upper. Just alot of people blowing engines.

Pretty much up to your comfort level. Some are even running the 6lb lower and 2lb upper. Some are also creating new intake holes in the sides of their blocks. They just seem to keep making horsepower. I do not have dyno data to show the differences but I bet someone does (HighRoller?). I went from a 2lb to a 4lb and noticed a huge difference. You will need a reburn if you go 4lb or more. I am toying with the idea of the interchangable upper pulley. You can run a stock diameter of change to a smaller 2lb (claimed 2lb more like 1lb).

Twinturbo Ranger,
I would go with a 4# pulley there is a big jump in power from a 2# pulley compared to a 4# pulley to make it worth while!

Well I figure the motor blowing is poor tune and sometimes people just don't recognize it or choose to ignore it. I'm just looking for consistent 12's when I do go to the track and a little more power. The 2 psi pulley doens't seem worth it to me,so that's why I thought about the 4 psi. I'll let a few more opinions roll on before I decide.

TwinTurbo-If ya wanna see what a 4# lower and 1# upper feels like, let me know and Ill let ya drive mine one day! There is a big difference between the 2# and 4# lower's! This thing will get sideways when it hits second gear, the power is just unreal.
Its very hard to hook up on the street, you have to ease into the throttle, then hammer it. I need a set of them nitto's BAD!! Traction becomes the major factor with the 4# and bigger pullies.
The blower definatley screams alot louder, but there hasnt been anyone that we know of grenaded a blower yet. The looks on peoples faces in front of you when you hammer it is hilarious! The sound of the blower gets everyones attention. LOL!

NO tuner wars guys. I was stating that most people don't know what detonation is ,what it sounds like or how to read plugs. I've been tuning and mesing with forced induction for almost 10 years now and 80 to 90 percent of the poeple just don't know. My main concern was the blower. I can always have a chip reburned till it's right.

Rodney if you can drop by Friday. I'd like to check it out.

3's are OK too..............

I got into the high 12s with my 3lber and dynoed 388rwhp with 467 rwtq. It was consistent with a best et of 12.791.

Recently went to a 5lber and my best is a 12.697(no dyno yet). One of our guys posted a table with different pulleys represented and with s/c rpms at different eng. rpms. Maybe he'll chime in? Btw, mine is a daily driver too.
