Boostin,

Had my leer 700 Series for a week now. Looks great, has some style, not just flat, as there are no just flat surfaces on an L. I get lots of compliments and my gas mileage has gone up almost 2 per gallon, maybe more if my right foot could lose some weight .

Here is a pic on my '02 Black L

BTW,

After the install, I adjusted it to ride on the adjustable stops and put two rubber bumpers by the latches to keep it from bouncing at high freeway speeds.

Another pic......

It started at $750, got it for $650, underside carpeted and bought a bed mat for $49. I also added a Steel Horse bed extender, and have a true trunk and nothing moves during hard acceleration. When I get the time I will take pics of the inside and show where I put the rubber bumpers.

Thumbs down leer WILL NOT back their product

The 700 series I had looked nice from a distance but had several defects from: paint flaws, chips, fibers, overspray, to the 3M tape coming off, and etc. I called the eastern manger (in PA) he said he'll look at the problem , sent replacement which was in worse condition. His attitude was that it's not his problem.

Thank God the dealership was reasonable and I paid by credit card. Took the top off and I'm looking at innovation fiberglass, great looking tops.

You buy LEER you WILL NOT get support from the company!!
BUYER BEWARE!!!!

Tony,

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. Leer has three plants, I got mine from the one in CA and would have to say, it looks great. It is possible to get screwed in most any deal. I did read your post before I got mine and I did pay with a credit card so I could have some recourse. It wasn't necessary though for me in my case. As with ALL add on purchases, beware of what you are buying, it doesn't always end up for the best.
BTW, for my money, I would have gone all the way to corporate hq before I would give up on getting satisfaction. Just my $.02

FireGuy, where did you purchase your Leer? Seems like a pretty good price. TP.

T.P.,
I found it at Turner's Toys for Trucks in San Bernardino. It is about 50 miles east of you. I bet you could find a dealer nearer who would cut you a deal. I just went through my local yellow pages in the camper shell section and drove by to get estimates from my local delaers.
The snug-lid dealer had a care less attitude and that pointed me in the direction of the Leer dealer. I know it is a personal choice thing, but my gut told me that I wanted something with more style and functionality that the Snug, besides everyone around here has one.
Lastly, you need to feel comfortable with the guys working on your L. I would have had real heartburn trusting the snug dealer in my area after talking with him. I like to go with my hunches, they are trying to tell me something.

Good Luck

I still prefer the looks of the Snugtop, but it's really a personal preference.
