While some of us Lightning owners may have small consumption problems....... looks like some other companies have much bigger problems.
My L has never used one drop in 18,000+ miles. However, I do not beat on the truck. I am sure that if I towed heavily, or raced it alot, it would use some. My wife's 94 never used any either...... unless towing heavily or used real hard (in 116,000 miles).
Any engine, under extreme stress will use some oil........ although what they deem as normal at GM seems a bit out of line, in my opinion.
Of course, this is just the opinion of an auto repair shop owner.

I would be pissed if I bought a Z06 and it used a quart of oil every 1,500 miles. I just sold a 93 lightning that had 145,000 miles on it and it just has begun to use about 1 quart between changes. According to that one guy I should have kept my 93 because it was finally loosening up and was about to become much faster. What BS!
