We need to add the specs and differences between the 2001 and 2002 Lightnings to the FAQ.

Who wants to take on that challenge and post the results here or send them to me in email ??

The specs on the 2001 and 2002 are the same
the only differance is a key pad and locking lug nuts

Doug, I'm not sure exactly what kind of differences you are looking for, be here's another one I noticed..

99-01s- the vaccum line from the manifold to the brake booster comes off the booster as a rubber hose, then turns into a metal tube, and bolts to the bracket coming off the blower. On the 02s, it's a rubber hose all the way, covered by convoluted tubing, and it goes up, and snaps into the black plastic wiper cowl with a retainer ring.

 

I belive you can get a Blue L. For 02

The most important handle!

I think the little cubby hole below and to te right of the sterring colum was last as well. But that could have been lost in 2000 fromt he over head console.

 

01's have double visors
02's do not (?)

 

For what its worth...my 02 DOES have 2 ochit handles...one on each A piller.

Bob what visors are you talking about? Sun visors? Mine has 2. Ive never saw a veichle that didnt.

Tommy The 2000's lost the little hole in the Dash.

It sounds like we are seeing individual variations form truck to truck.... The double visors started in 2001 and the double HS handles started in 2000... Seems like some parts got switched on the assembly line in a few cases

My '02 has signal mirrors - was never clear if the '01's did or not

And BTW I have 2 HS handles also.

Since were talking about differences, does anyone know what this sensor is that's on the '01 L's, but not the '99/'00 L's?
