Are stock gen 2 L wheels powder coated or painted?

I want to strip my chrome replicas and make them match the originals. What method was used, powdercoat or paint?

They are painted.My dumb *** boss was cutting grass and flung a rock up onto my front wheel and chipped it.

Look at some pics on this forum or in a gallery, the 99-00 rims are better looking in my opinion.. just my .02 worth........JR
